International Women's Day 2015

The International Women’s Day is a day that is marked for celebrating women’s achievements, and calling for greater gender equality across all works of life. The date is March 8 every year, and it has been marked annually since 1911. Thousands of events are utilized to mark this great day, across every nation in the world, and Abuja, Nigeria was no exception.

The Enterprise Development Centre [EDC] of the Pan-Atlantic University of Nigeria, once again marked the International Women’s Day, in Lagos and in Abuja, and Daydah Concepts Ltd was opportuned to be there, and to participate in the program.

The theme for the day was “Make it Happen!”, while the UN theme for 2015’s International Women’s Day was “Empowering Women, empowering Humanity: Picture it!’. The color theme for the day was purple.

Mrs Sanomi Eghogho – Executive Director, Midel Group Mr Ini Akpabio – Executive Director, Nanet Group Mrs Maryam Augie-abdulmumin – Executive Director, Ayahay Foundation Mr Ademola Awobokun – Executive Director, Mada, Cedar Lodge & Suites

The panelists took turns sharing on so many circumstances that women have prevailed and on how we can make the environment more friendly to women development, progress and to gender equality. The hashtags on social media were #IWD2015, #IWDEDC2015, #MakeItHappen.

International Women's Day, Abuja EDC chapter, was a wonderful event. We had guest speakers, treating everything pertaining to women.
